Neurovascular disease contributes to the morbidity and mortality of millions of patients annually. In recent years, clinical advances in knowledge and technique have been translated into significantly improved outcomes for our sick neurovascular patients. This educational program is designed to provide a review of the most up-to-date practice recommendations as well as give a survey of clinical innovations on the horizon in neurovascular care.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This educational activity will enable participants to:

  • Review the science of inflammation and edema in intracerebral hemorrhage to better understand medical and surgical advances in the care of primary ICH
  • Discuss clinical updates in the medical and surgical management of primary ICH
  • Describe the application of advanced methods for aneurysm evaluation, repair and medical management in subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Outline advances in care for large vessel ischemic stroke, including promising medical therapies
